THE HIES OPEN LIBRARY
The Eddic Literature collection brings together foundational texts and historical source collections for the study of Old Norse mythological, wisdom, heroic, and poetic traditions.
These resources provide access to major Eddic texts in English translation as well as historical collections useful for comparative, textual, and advanced study. Individual resource pages provide information about each work, its edition, its use at HIES, and access to the available online text.

The Eddic Literature collection will continue to develop as suitable public-domain texts, historical editions, translations, and responsibly licensed resources are identified and reviewed for inclusion.
Resources are selected for their value in the study of Eddic literature and related Old Norse poetic traditions. Inclusion in the Open Library does not mean that every resource is required reading within the Bachelor of Eddic Studies program.
